Tasty Thursday ~ S’mores Sandwich Cookie Bars

I have a recipe to share today! I tried this recipe last week and they are yummy! I made mine in a muffin tin making individual treats, so the portions of the recipe card in (brackets) is for the muffin tin option. Warm them up (just 10-15 seconds in the microwave) and they are warm and gooey and good!

Here’s the recipe card, click to view it a bit larger.

Tasty Thursday – {Frosted} Rhubarb Cookies

Hello everyone! I have a recipe to share with you this week! A few days ago a friend of mine gave me a whole bag full of rhubarb, I cleaned and chopped it and put 2/3 of it in the freezer for another time… then went hunting for recipes for the 1/3 that I kept out. My DD asked for rhubarb cookies, which we all thought was cute and I said that if I could find a recipe I’d make them. So I went searching, I checked out one of my fave sites called Recipezaar… the recipes there are rated and comments can be left too, this gives me a good idea if a recipe is worth trying or not. And that’s where I found this recipe!

Very moist, almost a muffin-like texture, not much rhubarb flavour but still very yummy! Enjoy!

Tasty Thursday – Soft Pretzels!

I looooove soft pretzels. It’s something that my mother used to make at least once a week if not more for lunch. She made her own bread pretty much daily, and sometimes she’d use half of the dough to form into pretzels to bake in time for lunch. Some of us would spread on the traditional mustard, others would spread margarine or Cheese Whiz. The smell of baked bread and especially the salty taste of soft pretzels always reminds me of home.

And that’s why I used the kit I did for this recipe. It’s called Where The Heart Is and is by Zoe Pearn, it’s available at The Sweet Shoppe and is the only kit I bought during the NSD sales last weekend. It’s a great homey, and heart warming kit… exactly how I feel about this recipe :-)

My recipe is slightly different from my mother’s, this one is technically from a friend of my mom’s published in a garden club cookbook that they put together years ago. And I love it! I decided I would finally scrap it to add to my recipe box, it took a while… lol, there’s a lot of steps to this recipe. But trust me, it is sooo worth it!
