We’re moving!

No not my blog – my family!

We’ve been looking at house after house for about 6 months now, we were at a point where we went into a house not really expecting to find something that would meet most of our requirements. So when we did, it came as a bit of a shock that we were actually buying a house! We currently rent and our rent is going up next month, by over 100$ and next year it will probably go up again. So it was time to start putting that money into something worthwhile. We signed the last paper with our realtor yesterday, now there’s nothing left to sign until just a week before possession date (May 27)… then we go see the lawyers and sign until our hands cramp… lol.

It’s our first home, so we had to concede that some things we would have to do without. It’s a mobile, and this means that we have no basement… and that would be about the only thing we have to do without… lol. It’s 1200 sq ft, (a bit bigger than what we live in right now), the kitchen is nice and large and bright (has a skylight!), there’s a sunken living room, master bedroom has a full wall to wall closet (I just might be able to snag half of it for scrapping space *wink, wink*), the ensuite bathroom has a jetted soaker tub and separate shower stall, my DD’s room is a bit larger than what she has here… as you can see the house is great!

It’s on a corner lot so the yard is quite large, there are a lot of mature trees in the yard (which is not rare, but not common either in Central/Southern Alberta), a 2 car heated garage (DH will be setting up his Consulting and Sale business office/workspace in half of it), we have a nice size deck, room to park 3 cars between the front and back driveways…  it’s awesome!

And all within our budget!

The inspection was done yesterday morning, and the only thing that he found was that the hot water tank is old and needs to be replaced. But we have kept aside some money from our down payment to pay for all the little fees, and I’m pretty sure we’ll still have enough left over to get the tank replaced right away. Everything else that he found is minor, cheap and easy to fix/replace ourselves.

So all this means that I’m going to be pretty busy for the next month getting ready to move, and for the following month too as we get settled in. I apologize for how little I’ve been blogging and hopefully I can get back into the swing of things after we are settled into our new home. I’ll still try to post updates, and show you some things that I’ve been crafting when I have time to do some crafting ;-)

Take care everyone! :-D
