Thank you Friends-4-Food!
I know I’ve mentioned my friend’s project Friends-4-Food before, but I just want to make mention of it one more time. There’s still time for you to make a donation to your local food bank for your chance to win a big box of crafty goodies, not to mention giving you a chance to give back to your community and an opportunity for you to teach your kids all about giving and thinking of others less fortunate than yourself.
And that’s what we did today – this morning actually – after my DD was finished school we took her to a local church that was accepting donations for the food bank. We donated 3 grocery bags full of food that we bought while we were doing our grocery shopping yesterday. My DD helped us choose what we would donate and loved helping us bring the food in to the food bank.
This is something a little bit different from what we usually do. Normally we make a donation to a holiday project called Stuff The Bus, and is hosted by the local media. They stuff a bus full of non perishable donations and take it to a food bank. But this year it was cancelled, so we found the food bank ourselves and made our donation directly to them.
