Road Trip Writings – Day 4
This will be short, it’s getting late as this was our longest day ever. We left the hotel this morning at 7 am and arrived finally in Sault St Marie (Ontario) at 5 pm – that’s 10 hours!
The day started with a quick trip to the Terry Fox Monument, a must stop if you are ever in Thunder Bay. We took some photos, read the memorial stone’s writings and were humbled by the man that was Terry Fox. If you’ve never heard of him and his life with cancer and his run for research please google him, he truly was a national treasure. Here’s a couple photos…
We then drove to Rocksville gift shoppe, which we found to be closed at 7:30 am. But, how surprised were we to be waved in by the resident shop keepers?! So we go to shop around, bought some Amethyst as that is mined there and there is tons of it there. It also happens to be my DD’s birth stone so we just had to buy some! We also bought a beautiful little souvenir statue (photos to come in a couple days when I have more time). I also bought myself a beautiful bracelet and some postcards, and we bought DD some more stones for her collection including a geode, hematite and more. Photos?
We then made a few bathroom stops here and there, stopped in Wawa and took some photos…
Well that’s it for tonight. We’re tired from such a long day, but we’re almost there! Tomorrow we will go to Sturgeon Falls where we will meet with my mom so she can pick up my sister, then we’ll go the last 30 minutes to North Bay and my hubby’s parents’ place. We don’t really have any sight seeing planned for tomorrow, it’s just 4.5 hrs or so of driving till we are in North Bay! See you there!
