Potty training, and if my fridge could talk…
Ha, ha, ha… how’s that for a title?! So what do those 2 things have in common? Nothing more than me combining them in one post of course! LOL… ok, maybe I need some sleep (as I’m writing this Thursday night while watching National Treasure with Nicholas Cage).
First, the potty training. This past week he decided that we would try the potty training again. My DD is 3 yrs, 4 months old and every time I’ve tried potty training in the past couple months, she’s gotten sick within just a day or two of starting. And I’m sorry, but I am not forcing a child who’s puking and has a fever to try and use the potty. Not going to happen. So we tried again this week. And we’ve had success! She has gone 2 days now without a single accident! I think we’ve got stage 1 mastered!
Stage 1 you ask, what is that you ask? Well, I feel that potty training comes in 3 stages. Stage 1- peeing in the potty during the day. Stage 2- pooping in the potty. And stage 3- staying dry through the night. And that completes the 3 stages of potty training. We are now finished with stage 1, peeing in the potty during the day. Next step is getting her to use it for doing her #2 business as it’s called. Any thoughts on that from any of you experienced mothers? I tried to get my DD to go last night by sitting her on the potty (she actually uses the normal toilet with a seat that goes on it to make the hole smaller for her) during the time that she’s been doing her stinky thinking (as we like to call it, lol). But that didn’t work, she sat there for an hour and a half with no results. We read books, drew pictures while sitting there… but nothing happened. All we got out of it was a constipated little girl. So this morning I put a pullup on her (we call them diaper-wear, lol) and told her that she was to pee in the potty, but could have a poo in the pullup, I just wanted her to go.
So does anyone have any tips on getting her to go poo in the potty without her getting constipated?
Ok, now on to what my fridge says about me. The Sweet Shoppe Designs blog has asked it’s readers to do this little quiz, so here are my results… quite accurate I might add.
