A day all to myself!

I can’t believe it, it’s just me… little old me… here all day long! My hubby’s cousin Anick came to visit us this weekend and he had to bring her back to her hotel this morning so she can meet up with her friends again before they fly back home tomorrow. So he said that he would take our DD, Ally with him so I could have the whole day to myself! So what am I going to do with my day home alone?

Right now I’m having a quiet breakfast of Toaster Strudels (lol) and coffee, once Paula Deen’s done cooking I’ll go jump in the shower. Aaaah, a shower without my little one saying peek-a-boo every two seconds!

Then I have a pinwheel sandwich recipe I want to try for lunch, I have to do the prep a couple hours before toasting it in the oven so I’ll get that done and in the fridge after my shower.

Then I’m going to go online and look for some scrapping project ideas to try! I won some scrapping supplies back in February and still haven’t used them so I’m going to look for a way to use them today. In the package I got a whole set of Bo Bunny papers by Shabby Princess (Smitten collection) with matching flowers, chipboard bits, rubons and a few tools too! For tools I got a pair of little sharp scissors, the bendable ruler by Bo Bunny, and a mini stapler! I love it all! But, I have never done paper scrapping so I’m not quite sure what to do with it all. If I go hybrid with it I can’t finish it today because I print my stuff at Walmart and I have no car today so I’m stuck at home. So we’ll see what I can come up with.

And I really want to spend some time in our new craft corner! We’ve been working on turning a teeny tiny area in our office into a craft corner for all three of us to share. So we’ve stocked up on kiddy craft supplies, my hubby’s Warcraft character painting supplies and tools, and my scrapping supplies and tools! So Saturday while all of you were enjoying NSD, I was in Edmonton shopping. And I got a couple dozen different ribbons, some adhesives, mini brads, a scoring tool… and yesterday hubby set up a little ribbon storage for me! I’ll take a photo for you after my shower! It’s a shelf that holds his paints and tools, and the bracket holds a skinny dowel for my ribbon spools and a larger curtain rod dowel for the loose strips of ribbon to be hung from! I love it! So I’ll take some photos later of our little craft corner for you to see!

So I’ll be back this afternoon and let you know how my day home alone has gone so far, and show you some photos! See you then!

Layout Recipe #47 ~ Take a Little Peek!

This week’s layout was found while browsing through the gallery at the DigiShopTalk, it’s by Antje and is entitled Take a Little Peek! This layout is so simple and pretty! I love the natural background with the beautiful flowers and leaves, it’s so “spring” don’t you think? She did a great job mixing and matching products on this layout. Please feel free to click on the image and leave this talented scrapper some praise!

What was your inspiration for the layout’s theme or design?

My lovely friend Mel was showing me this cute photo of her DD
and I thought immediately, that it is perfect for Weeds & Wildflowers new natural stuff.

What special techniques/actions/effects did you use if any in creating the layout?

I didn’t use any special techniques, except for a photo action called “enhanced reds” which is included in PSPx2. I adjust saturation, brightness and contrast, that’s all ;) .
