Layout Recipe #46 ~ Watching
This week’s layout was found while browsing through the gallery at the DigiShopTalk, it’s by suzy and is entitled Watching! This scrapper is one whom I have featured here before, but when I saw this layout I knew I had to showcase her again! This layout is so simple and yet it really draws you in. I love the story behind the photos and I think suzy did a great job focusing on the photos and the story behind them. Please feel free to click on the image and leave this talented scrapper some praise!

What was your inspiration for the layout’s theme or design?
The inspiration for my layout came from the main photo of my daughter watching her big sister play with their grandparents’ puppy. She is still afraid of the puppy but we can see that she really wants to be down in the backyard joining in the fun. I wanted to include the photos of what she is watching as well – trying to give the impression that she is looking down from the verandah watching her sister below. I wanted to keep it simple and make it all about the photos.
What special techniques/actions/effects did you use if any in creating the layout?
I didn’t use any actions in the layout, but have been experimenting quite a bit with drop shadows since upgrading to PSE6 a few weeks ago. I am actually really happy with the shadows in this layout. I try to make my layouts look real and paper like and I am loving the ability to play with the shadows in PSE6.
