Guess where I’m blogging from?!

Guess, guess! The FantasyLand Hotel in Edmonton! This morning hubby woke up and apparently felt like doing something different, maybe go on a mini trip and see how our DD would be sleeping in a hotel. So we decided to check the FantasyLand Hotel and West Edmonton Mall to see the hours and room availability. And there was 1 room left at the hotel for tonight only! So we booked it quick and now I’m typing from the Canadian Railroad room… lol. Complete with a crossing light that blinks (took us 20 minutes to find the off switch for the darn thing, lol), a bunk bed for the kiddos and king size bed for us, a nice big jacuzzi tub (we brought bathing suits to play in it) and full service! Full service as in valet parking, bell boy to bring up your bags etc… can you tell that I’ve never stayed anywhere like this?!

Unfortunately the mall closed as 6 tonight, and all the restaurants in the whole place were booked solid for the night so we had to resort to room service. But it was nice, and quiet We walked through the mall a bit when we got here this afternoon, got a map so I can make sure to not miss the craft store tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll have the scrapbooking supplies I wanted for my hybrid projects. We found the Build-a-Bear Workshop which we’ll be visiting tomorrow, and the Deep Sea Caverns that we want to tour tomorrow too. And there’s a store that just sells Christmas stuff, year round! So that’s a store that we must check out.

Now this isn’t actually our first time to the West Edmonton Mall. My hubby and I came here about 3.5yrs ago when we first moved out here. But our DD has never been here and now she’s old enough to really make it fun and worthwhile taking her to these sorts of places.

So we are here for the night, tomorrow we shop and take tons of photos (of course!) then when we’re all done our shopping we’ll head on back home. Tomorrow night after DD goes to bed we’ll have to help the Easter Bunny out with the eggs and basket of goodies. It’s going to be a full long-weekend, but I’ll be fully stocked with photos to scrap when it’s all over! Next time I get a chance to blog I’ll be sure to include photos! But for now I think I’m just going to get some sleep so I can be ready for the shopping and photo opts that is tomorrow. Have a happy scrappy night everyone!
