Layout Recipe #36 ~ Miracle

This week’s layout caught my eye at the DST gallery, it’s by LauraKaye and is entitled Miracle! I love the quiet calm and natural feel of this layout. It’s simple beauty and wonderful layering of the elements is breath taking. Please feel free to click on the image and leave this talented scrapper some praise!

What was your inspiration for the layout’s theme or design?

My inspiration for creating this layout was to capture the wonderful beauty and serenity that I found in looking at this picture of my son.  Often times our lives are too crazy to appreciate these small moments, but this is one that I want to hold on to as long as I can.

What special techniques/actions/effects did you use if any in creating the layout?

I spent a lot of time in Adobe Lightroom making sure I had just the right exposure and tones on the photo to get that peaceful look.

There is nothing too tricky going on in the layout itself.  I’ve layered many elements beneath the photo to get this look.  The ornamental flourish elements were .png files that I added to the layer in a deep shade of green.  I used the overlay layer blending mode on these elements so that it would appear that the flourishes were stamped or watercoloured onto the paper itself.

Thank you to my readers for checking out my blog today, I hope this layout has inspired you to mix and match some great products, and stretch your creativity! Please click on the layout above and leave this great scrapper some love!
