Checking out schools, and some new layouts!
*sigh* I’m so sorry I haven’t been blogging as much as usual this week. Hubby’s not sick anymore, however he is still home because he had already booked this week off from work. So we’ve been busy cleaning up around the house, and getting some errands run.
One of the things we had to do while hubby’s home was to check out the local schools. I can’t believe my baby’s almost ready for school! We’ll be dropping off the registration form and cheque later today for her to be going into pre-kindergarten in September. After first calling both the public and the catholic school we were a bit put off from the public one. Apparently we couldn’t register for the fall yet, but if we wanted a choice in what days she went and if she went in the morning or afternoon, we had to "pre-register". Basically we put our name on a list to get priority, to me that’s kinda weird and gives your child a better shot at getting in only if you happen to know the right people to get yourself on the "pre-registration" list. To us, that’s not cool. The catholic school secretary was very nice, and helpful (as opposed to the public one who seemed exasperated with us for not knowing the difference between the pre-registration and registration). The catholic school also invited us to drop in at any time to meet the teacher(s) and to check out the school in general. So we did. We went in yesterday afternoon, and we were very impressed! The school covers all ages, from pre-K right through 12. They have a buddy system where the older kids have to look out for the younger ones. My DD’s class has not just one teacher, but three teachers! Everyone was very nice, the school seemed perfect. So we signed her up!
*sigh* I teared up a couple times while in the pre-K room, lol had to leave the room so my DD wouldn’t see. But boy was she ready! She wanted to stay. Now I just need to get her potty trained… lol. She really has no idea when she has to go. People have told me to just strip her down and when she feels she has to go she’ll do a little dance before hand because she won’t have the cushy diaperwear (our slang term for pullups lol) on, however that doesn’t work for her. She doesn’t know she has to go and just does. Everyone who has little girls has told me that it just kinda clicks in their brain one day and then you’re done. Once they get it they get it. I just hope it happens soon, lol… I’m tired of diaperwear!
So since I didn’t get a new recipe card scrapped this week, would you like to see the layouts I’ve done so far this month? Ok here’s what I’ve done lately…
