About our Sponsors ~ Kristin Cronin-Barrow

Our next sponsor is Kristin CB! I love this woman! A little bit before Christmas I was asked to join her CT and I just started jumping for joy! I’ve been buying her products for a couple years now and I just can’t get enough or her soft sparkly papers, her flowers and swirls and everything else she makes. Kristin has allowed me to create some mini albums and desktop backgrounds to give to you as participation gifts in my challenges this month. You still have a few days to get those layouts in if you’d like to get your participation gifts and a ballot into My Favourite Things prize pack! There is the I Heart U layout challenge, the Journaling/Title challenge, and the Untraditional/Traditional challenge.

So here are a few questions I asked her, and down on the bottom are some previews of my favourite KCB products (linked up for you!) and some layouts I’ve created using those beautiful kits! (Click on the layouts for additional layout credit information!)

When did you start designing, and why?

I started designing in October of 2004. I was a member of the scrapbook-bytes design team before they opened the store there and so when it was opening I decided to have a go at designing. I took a small break for a few months but have basically been designing every since.

What’s your favourite thing to design?

My favourite thing used to be papers but lately I have just been having so much fun with the elements! I always do the papers first but lately I have been itching to get the papers done so I can start working on the elements since that’s when the kit realy starts coming together.

How would you describe your style?

My style is often described as "pretty and soft". I like to go for simple elements. I’m not really sure how else to explain what I do.. lol

Where do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from all over! Clothing, home decor.. all kinds of things. I also get lots of inspiration from my creative team members. Meghan is always helping me out with ideas!!

Out of everything you currently sell, which is your favourite?

Oh this is a tough question. To be honest I actually don’t use my own products. It sounds strange I guess but its a common answer by a lot of designers so I know I’m not alone. I do like the valentine kits I did though. I tend to like my "cutesy" stuff the best.

What’s your favourite scrapping store to shop in?

Oh this is 100% true I love the designers at sweet shoppe, which is probably why I was so darn excited to get a spot at the store. Some of my favourite designers sell there. I also am very fond of Kay Miller Designs and Shabby Princess.

What’s your favourite indulgence? That one thing you splurge on just because you can’t live without it, even though it’s not a necessity?

Well right now.. being pregnant. Its food related!!! I love to get paninis from a local restaurant here in town and probably have been eating out a bit more than I should be since it can get quite expensive!

I think everyone has at least one scrapping thing that they collect no matter how many they already have. You have to have it in every shape, size, colour and style. What is that one thing for you?

I love flowers… real ones, illustrated ones.. I just really love flowers! And flourishes. Decorative little things to add to a layout. I find they are always that last finishing touch.

What is your must have computer hardware/software that you couldn’t live without?

I switched (back) to a mac last February and can’t imagine ever going back to a pc. I LOVE my imac!

And lastly, do you have a blinkie for your fans to parade around with in their forum signatures?

I don’t.. but I will try and get one soon!
