Changes to my blog…

So I have decided to make a few changes to my blog, some have already been done while others will start… maybe next week. Changes already done are my signing up with FeedBurner and FeedBlitz, now what this means is you can subscribe in the right column to receive emails when I post, and you can click on the Subscribe in a reader link to do just that. If you use a reader like I do, I use Google Reader on my IGoogle home page, click on that link and either follow the instructions to add the feed to your reader, or copy the url in the browser… do not copy my blog’s url as it will not give you updates. It’s the same with See Nancy Work’s blog (many people myself included have had trouble getting our readers to see her blog). I haven’t been able to get my reader to see her blog and that’s why, you have to click on that link and then copy the new url because FeedBurder burns your old feed url basically and replaces it’s own so that it can track your stats. I know it’s a pain for you, but it will make it easier for me to track the traffic on my blog to see where I may need changes and to see how many people come here, if I need to maybe do something to bring you in.

Next change! One of the changes/addons is just for me, I added a spell check plugin for myself, but I think it also shows up when you leave a comment too if you’d like to use it. And another addition is a form for you to submit info for my new posts. I will be doing a few weekly posts where you are welcome to make suggestions for future posts, so once I’ve customized the form for my needs I’ll be adding that.

Post changes, I have decided to change how I post a little to bring you more info. I will be posting about my new layouts with the previews of products used, where I got my inspirations etc only once a week now. But I would also like to do a similar post every week using your layouts!

I will be adding a post called Layout Recipes where I will bring you a layout I’ve seen and loved in the gallery and I will find out what the inspiration behind it was and what products were used so I can link you all up to them! This is where you can submit links to layouts in galleries whose “recipe” you’d love to get!

There will also be a weekly Challenge Report where I will inform you on a challenge out there, I will describe the challenge, let you know what incentives there may be for the challenge, and let you know how often it is updated. Of course I will also link you up to it so you can check it out yourself! Here’s where you can also submit to me a link to a challenge that you love or host and would like for me to post about in a future post.

Another new weekly post will be a Kaboodle Quiz, I will post a few clues, give a description of etc of something in one of my Kaboodle lists… then you can click on a link to see what item I have in my kaboodle yourself! This will just be a fun little post where I can share with you things I’m wishing for and can’t wait to get my hands on!

A Glimpse of Me post will also be done each week, this is where I will let you in on a little something about me. Stuff that my IRL friends would know about, but since you can’t come to my house and see how I live and what I collect etc I will let you in on some things about me in a weekly post.

And finally I will be handing out a weekly B.R.A.G. Bag for you! You’ve heard of those Grab Bags right? Probably bought a few over the last few months too haven’t you? Well mine is free cause here’s what it stands for…. Blog Reader Appreciation Gift Bag! I will not advertise about it more than the first few weeks to raise awareness of it’s being here, then it will be up to you to brag about it to your friends, feel free to reveal it’s contents on your blog… post about it’s awesomeness in the forums… tell your friends about it… brag away! Each week it will contain something that is currently in my store, and something new. Now this is just a free gift so it may not be big, it may contain just a few little things… It’s just my way of saying thanks to those who read my blog and to get a few new readers here to see what my blog has to offer on a weekly basis!

And add my blog to your blogroll, leave me a comment letting me know (if you fill in your blog address in the website part of the comment form I can check out your blog too) and I’ll add a new section to my blog’s side column called Blog Friends and I’ll add a link to your blog!

These are all things that I’ve read are good to bring in traffic to your blog. My main source of info has been a great blog in our community called Digital Scrapbooking Info, if you’ve never been there you don’t know what you’re missing. For the posts about improving one’s blog just click on May in the archives and scroll down till you find one of the articles, there is a series and each post has a link to the previous ones in the series making it easy to find them. They have tons of info as well as links to where you can find more, some of which gave me more of the tips I’m following.
