This week’s layout is one that I found while browsing the gallery at the Sweet Shoppe recently. It’s by Amandabarugh and is entitled Where Magic Lives! I love the clustering of elements, the stacked photo look and the beautiful colours of this layout! The photo editing is wonderful, definitely something I’m going to have to try myself! Please feel free to click on the image and leave this talented scrapper some praise!

What was your inspiration for the layout’s theme or design?

My inspiration for the LO came from the Sweet Shoppe Slogan Challenge. As soon as I read the slogan, I knew exactly which picture and kit (Vintage Garden Fairies) I wanted to use. Everything else just seemed to fall into place.

What special techniques/actions/effects did you use if any in creating the layout?

As far as techniques go… I always start with the photo I want to use. The first thing I do is use the Digital Camera Noise Removal tool (PSP). Then I play with the curves and levels until the photo pops. The last thing I do is run the unsharp mask. Other than that, I don’t use any really special techniques.

Hi everyone! I’m Sarah Meyer and I’m filling in for Monique while she’s off enjoying her vacation! This recipe is one of my favorites—Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins! I have these for breakfast often, and they make tasty snacks too!

This recipe page is one from my Grandma’s Apron Cookbook Quick Kit, available at Gotta Pixel and Digitals. It’s made with pieces from the Grandma’s Apron Page Kit, also available at Gotta Pixel and Digitals.

I just love the bright summery colours, and the beautiful elements that were chosen for this layout! I also love the creation of vertical and horizontal lines with the paper strips and strings of beads, it makes for a beautiful layout! For the SAL (Spin A Lift challenge) I lifted NikkiARNGwife’s Spring Time

Ingredients List:

What was your inspiration for the layout’s theme or design?

Truthfully I was totally inspired by Nikki’s layout and wanted to use something I wouldn’t normally use (i.e. something not blue, lol). Sara’s kit was totally perfect; it was exactly what I was looking for.

What special techniques/actions/effects did you use if any in creating the layout?

The only special techniques I used were for my photos. First, I used Jessica Sprague’s ShaZAM technique to make my photos pop. Then I used the lasso tool to extract my son and used a slight gaussian blur on the bg to make Max a little more in focus.
